Simple present or so-called past simple is a type of tense that is used to express experience or actions/events in the past. In short, if we wish to tell an experience or past event, we should use past simple.
Here are some examples of telling experience or past event using past simple;
- She came back last Friday.
- I saw her in the street this morning.
- They were in London from Monday to Thursday of last week.
- When I was living in New York, I went to all the art exhibitions.
